How we work
Our editorial standards.
Every piece on AECORD Magazine is fact-checked against a BOQ or a quotation. We don't run advertorial. We disclose conflicts. Here's the long version.
Sourcing
Every cost figure cited in an article has to be traceable to either (1) a published BOQ we've audited or (2) a quotation from a named vendor that the architect-of-record has shared with us. We don't use "industry estimates" without a source.
Editing
Every article is reviewed by at least two editors before publication. One reads for clarity and one reads for accuracy. The second-reader's name is published in the byline footer.
Conflicts of interest
If an editor has worked with a firm, owns equity in a firm, or has been a paying client of a firm in the last 36 months, they may not edit a piece that mentions the firm. The recusal is published in the byline footer.
Corrections
Material errors are corrected within 24 hours and noted at the bottom of the article. Typos and small clarifications are corrected silently within 7 days; after that, we annotate the change.
Sponsored content
Sponsored pieces carry a "Sponsored" eyebrow above the headline and a coloured border. Sponsors have no input on editorial articles. We do not run native advertorial that looks like editorial.
Anonymity
We grant anonymity only when (1) the source faces credible professional or legal risk by being named, and (2) we have at least one corroborating source.
AI
We use AI for transcription, copy-editing suggestions, and translation. We do not use AI to generate article body, illustrations, or quotes. Photos are real and unfiltered. We label any AI-generated visual explicitly.
